The wounds inflicted by your weapon become truly horrifying.

The transmutation increases the critical multiplier of the weapon by 1. A critical multiplier of x2 becomes x3, a multiplier and threat range of 19-20/x2 becomes 19-20/x3, and so on.

The benefits of this spell overlap (do not stack) with magical effects that increase a weapon’s critical threat range, using the improved critical multiplier on its normal threat range, but the normal one on the magically enhanced one. For example, a rapier under the effect of both Unnatural Edge and Keen Edge would threaten a critical hit of x2 on a roll of 15, 16, or 17, but a critical hit of x3 on a roll of 18, 19, or 20.

If cast on arrows or crossbow bolts, the spell on a particular projectile ends after one use, whether or not the missile strikes its intended target. (Treat shuriken as arrows, rather than as thrown weapons, for the purpose of this spell.)

You can’t cast this spell on a natural weapon, such as a claw.

Augment: If you spend 4 additional spell points, all critical threats scored with a weapon or projectile under the effect of this spell are automatically confirmed (assuming the attack that scored the critical threat hits in the first place).
