You generate a tangible field of force around yourself.
You gain a +4 armor bonus to Armor Class. Unlike mundane armor, mage armor entails no armor check penalty or speed reduction. Because mage armor is composed of force, incorporeal creatures can’t bypass it the way they do normal armor. Your mage armor can be invisible or can appear as a colored glow, at your option. The armor bonus provided by mage armor does not stack with the armor bonus provided by regular armor, as normal for armor bonuses.
Augment: You can augment this spell in one or both of the following ways:
For every 2 additional spell points you spend, the armor bonus to Armor Class increases by 1.
If you spend 2 additional spell points, the spell’s range changes to “touch”, and its target changes to “creature touched”.
