Casting Time: 10 minutes

Duration: One day/level (D)
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No
The spell turns an oak into a protector, guardian... or soldier.
Liveoak must be cast on a healthy, Huge oak, which is then transformed into a treant, who follows your verbal instructions. Obviously harmful or suicidal orders are never carried out.
The spell can be cast on only a single tree at a time; while liveoak is in effect, you can’t cast it again on another tree.
When casting the spell, you learn a special command word. By speaking the command word (a standard action), you can change the treant into a gnarled (but otherwise ordinary-looking) quarterstaff. By speaking the command word again (another standard action), the quarterstaff turns back into a treant.
If killed in treant form, the spell ends, and the oak dies. If the spell is dispelled or the spell’s duration expires, the tree takes root immediately, wherever it happens to be. If released by you, the tree tries to return to its original location before taking root.
